Using the item gallery
The area at the bottom of the screen is called the item gallery, and it shows all content that can be used in the app. To find an item that you’d like to place in a scene, first tap or click on one of the category buttons in the gallery (e.g. gates, posts, plants) and then tap or click on one of the tabs to refine what type of item you’d like to use (e.g. wood or metal). The gallery now shows all items that match this category and type. To scroll through the items in the gallery, tap or click on the gallery and drag left or right. The gallery can be hidden or shown at any time by tapping or clicking on the small triangle in the central tab.
Adding an item to the scene
Use the item gallery to find an item that you would like to add to the scene. Tap or click on the item in the gallery to place it in the scene. You can also drag & drop an item from the gallery into the scene. Please note that there are limits on the number of items that can be placed in a scene – currently these are: 1 Gate, 4 Posts, 4 Piers or Walls, 4 Doors and 6 Trees or Bushes.
Manipulating and selecting items in the scene
To move an item in the scene, tap or click on the item and drag it to where you would like it to be positioned. To uniformly scale an item, on mobile devices use a pinch gesture (hold two fingers on screen and move the fingers together or away from each other), or on desktop devices press and hold the keyboard’s Shift key while clicking & dragging on an item.
To select an item, tap or click on it and several light coloured dots will appear around the item to show that it has been selected. Tapping or clicking and then dragging on any of the selection dots will allow the item to be freely stretched. To deselect an item, simply tap on the background.
Swapping an item in the scene
It is possible to swap an item in the scene for another item in the gallery (e.g. changing from one style of gate to another) without losing the position, scale and other properties of the item that’s already in the scene. To do this, select the item in the scene that you want to replace by clicking or tapping on it, and then click on an item from the gallery that you would like to replace it with. This can be done with any item from the gallery (the types of item don’t have to match).
Changing the scene’s background image
To change the image that is displayed in the background of the scene, tap or click the “Open / Save” button at the bottom right of the item gallery, followed by the “Open Background Photo” button. Use the prompt that appears to select your new background image.
Changing the layer order of items
To bring an item in the scene to the front (make it appear on top of all other items), simply select it by tapping or clicking on it. This process can be repeated with other items in the scene until the correct layering order is achieved.
Changing the colour of an item
To change the colour of an item, first select the item by tapping or clicking on it. Upon selection, a coloured box will appear at the left of the screen. Tapping, clicking or dragging inside this coloured box will change the colour of the selected item.
Removing an item from the scene
There are two ways to remove an item from the scene. The first is to hold a stationary tap or click on the item until a delete confirmation prompt appears. The second is to tap or click on the item and then drag it from the scene onto the item gallery.
Undo & Redo
The undo & redo buttons are located at the left side of the screen, just above the item gallery. Pressing the undo or redo buttons will undo or reapply any changes that you’ve made to the scene, and the app will remember your last 10 changes.
Exporting an image of the scene
When you have finished editing your items, you can export a photo of the complete scene by tapping or clicking the “Open / Save” button at the bottom right of the item gallery, followed by the “Save Photo of Scene” button. On mobile devices the image will be saved to the device’s gallery, on desktop devices a prompt for where to save the image will be displayed.
Saving and loading a scene (Mobile devices only)
To save a scene and all of its items so that they can be restored at a later time, tap or click the “Open / Save” button at the bottom right of the item gallery, followed by the “Save Current Scene” button.
To load a previously saved scene and its items, tap or click the “Open / Save” button at the bottom right of the item gallery, followed by the “Open Saved Scene” button. The item gallery now displays thumbnails of any scenes that have been saved to the device. Tapping on a thumbnail will load that scene.
To delete a saved scene from the device, tap and hold without moving on a thumbnail until the delete prompt appears.
Adding custom items to the scene (Pro only)
Custom images can be used as items in the app, provided that the image is saved using the PNG format. To import a custom image to use as an item, tap or click on the category in the item gallery that you would like the custom item to appear under, and then click on the “Custom” tab. The plus symbols in the gallery indicate slots where custom content can be uploaded. Click on one of the plus symbols and use the prompt that appears to select your custom item image. The custom item will appear in the gallery and can be used just like any other item in the app.
To delete a custom item from the device, tap and hold without moving on its thumbnail in the item gallery until the delete prompt appears.
Adding a custom logo (Pro only)
Custom logos can be used in the app, provided that the logo image is saved using the PNG format. To import a custom logo image, tap or click three times on the top left corner of the screen and use the prompt that appears to select your custom logo image.
To stop displaying a logo (or to set the logo to blank), tap or click three times on the top left corner of the screen but do not select an image when prompted (cancel or dismiss the prompt).
